Born to the highly religious family in Ndwedwe, Sihle Zikalala grew as a humble
but formidable and courageous activist. He joined the struggle of liberation at
the age of 15years. Since then, he has played many responsibilities within the
Liberation Movement in South Africa, including being the Secretary General of
the ANC Youth League, ANC KZN Deputy Provincial Secretary and Provincial
Secretary. He has been the ANC KZN Provincial Chairperson, and now serving as the ANC NEC Member.


Sihle Zikalala holds a BA Degree in Communication Science from UNISA and
Honours Degree in Public Administration from University KwaZulu – Natal and
Masters of Commerce in Leaderhip studies from UKZN.


He served as the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environment
Affairs, MEC for COGTA and KZN Premier. He served as the Minister of Public
Works and Infrastructure, and now serves in the Deputy Minister of the same
department.


As a family man, Sihle is married to Nelisiwe Zikalala and are blessed with two
sons and one daughter.
